B: 4.023 - 4.200 GHz
4Channelling29 MHzChannel centre frequencies according to CEPT/ERC/REC 12-08; Annex B, Part 1.
5Modulation / Occupied bandwidthClass: 5HB (128-QAM or equivalent).
ACM is allowed.
OBW: 29 MHz.
Definition of spectral efficiency classes: refer to EN 302 217-2, clause
Adaptive Modulation (ACM) is allowed.
OBW with Class 5HB (128-QAM): 29 MHz with or without ACM.
6Direction / Separation213 MHzFDD
7Transmit power / Power densityMax. 55 dBW e.i.r.p.
The operational e.i.r.p. will be specified in the license / individual assignment.
8Channel access and occupation rules--
9Authorisation regimeSwitzerland: License required.
Liechtenstein: Individual assignment required.
Geographical restrictions: Exclusion areas in Canton Valais and in town areas of Bale and Z├╝rich.
New assignments only in particularly justified cases.
10Additional essential requirements--
11Frequency planning assumptionsEN 302 217-2.
Nominal RX input level = - 50 dBm.
ATPC control range = min. 15 dB to max. 20 dB.
Conditions for the nominal RX input level:
- Receiver input, point A in the system block diagram (EN 302 217-1),
- RX input level tolerance: +1 to -10 dB,
- ATPC set to min. TX output power in clear sky conditions (i.e. without rain fading).
ATPC power increases shall be triggered on the basis of propagation effects only. The ATPC system shall not remain at max. available power (EN 302 217-1, clause 3.1) for more than 15 consecutive minutes (ITU-R Rec. F.750).
Remote Transmit Power Control (RTPC) is considered to be an optional feature.
At first CCDP has to be used and then ACCP.
Limits of transmitter power spectral density: Refer to EN 302 217-2, clause, Figure 7.
Allowed Reference Mode for ACM:
- 29 MHz channelling with 128-QAM modulation.
Min. link distance = 40 km.
Site sharing radius = 600 m.
Class 3 antenna.
Min. antenna gain = 34 dBi.
Linear (horizontal or vertical) polarization.
Antenna radiation pattern envelope (RPE) according to EN 302 217-4, Figure 13.
OFCOM may impose tighter requirements than the minimum values given in EN 302 217-4 in order to maximize the use of the scarce spectrum resources.
