UWB devices installed or used in automotive and railway vehicles without TPC are permitted to operate with a max. mean e.i.r.p. spectral density of -53.3 dBm/MHz and a max. peak e.i.r.p. of -12 dBm (measured in 50 MHz).
UWB devices placed on the market before 31st December 2010 are permitted to operate in the frequency band 4200 - 4800 MHz with a max. mean e.i.r.p. spectral density of -41.3 dBm/MHz and a max. peak e.i.r.p. of 0 dBm (measured in 50MHz).
8Channel access and occupation rulesTPC (Transmit Power Control)For equipment installed or used in automotive and railway vehicles, the operation is subject to the implementation of Transmit Power Control (TPC) with a range of 12 dB with respect to the maximum permitted radiated power.
9Authorisation regimeSwitzerland: License exempt.
Liechtenstein: General authorisation.
Operation on NIB / NPB. (Non interference basis / non protection basis).

12Planned changesMitigation techniques are required for 4.2 - 4.8 GHz devices placed on the market after 31.12.2010.UWB devices operating in the frequency band 4200 - 4800 MHz with max. mean e.i.r.p. spectral density higher than -70 dBm/MHz and or max. peak e.i.r.p. higher than -30 dBm (measured in 50 MHz) without additional mitigation techniques may not be placed on the market after the fixed cut-off date of 31 December 2010.
