2ApplicationGSO ESOMPsEarth Stations On Mobile Platforms (ESOMPs) operating with GSO FSS networks.
Considered are Land, Maritime and Aeronautical ESOMPs.
3Frequency band27.5 - 30.0 GHzESOMPs shall not cause harmful interference to FS systems in Switzerland in the bands 27.9405 - 28.4445 GHz and 28.9485 - 29.4525 GHz according the ECC/DEC/(13)01.
Receive frequency band (space-to-Earth): 17.3 - 20.2 GHz.
ESOMPs receiving in the band 17.3-17.7 GHz shall not claim protection from BSS feeder links operating in the same band and in conformity with their national regulations.
ESOMPs receiving in the band 17.7-19.7 GHz shall not claim protection from interference from fixed stations operating in the same band and in conformity with their national regulations.

8Channel access and occupation rulesAccording to ECC/DEC/(13)01.- Within the frequency bands 17.3-20.2 GHz and 27.5-30.0 GHz, ESOMPs shall operate only in the portions of these frequency bands identified for their use within the territory of operation.
- ESOMPs operating in international waters or international airspace (which may transmit within the range 27.5-30.0 GHz), shall not cause harmful interference to fixed service systems in the CEPT.
- ESOMPs transmitting in the band 29.5-30.0 GHz shall comply with the requirements in Annex 1 of ECC/DEC/(13)01.
- ESOMPs transmitting in the band 27.5-29.5 GHz shall comply with the requirements in Annexes 1, 2 and 3 of ECC/DEC/(13)01.
9Authorisation regimeSwitzerland: License exempt.
Aircraft equipment: Notification required.
Ship equipment: Notification required.
Liechtenstein: Individual assignment required.
Aircraft radio equipment is listed in the 'Aircraft station license'.
Ship radio equipment is listed in the 'Ship station license'.
Switzerland: Terminals are license exempt on the condition that the terminals are under the control of a network for which a valid spectrum license for the Swiss territory is required.
Liechtenstein: The exemption from the individual licensing requirement only applies subject to a valid license for the Liechtenstein territory that includes the use of individual customer terminals.
